Unfortunately nowadays you only can get it inmono. I still have the old original LP so I can hear the track in stereo. What a treasure, what a great album.

Hard to believe anybody would have been saying that at the time but the sentiments are relatable. Progressives took away the good times. One of my favorite Kinks songs.

This is what you call a perfect piece of music.

Nowadays, I play this song back to back with "Magic Works" by the Weird Sisters featuring Jarvis Cocker. First heard Don't Forget To Dance in 1983 on the radio when I was 15. Now, I'm 57 and can't believe time flew too fast. I wish I could go back to much simpler times. ❤️ The Kinks and Ray Davies!

A movie about penis transplants.....Kinks management decides writing a soundtrack for a crummy movie is a great career decision.....Ray Davies writes a song protesting body mutilation and it's the lead song on the album.....neither the movie producers or the record label understand what Ray is doing.....this is about the punkest, contrarian, most rock and roll thing imaginable.... this song and the background story comprises a part of why the Kinks are my favorite band.

This is one of the Kinks' best, in part because it seems to have been modeled on old English folk/minstrel songs. In fact, it bears a striking resemblance to "The Wraggle-Taggle Gypsies." Thanks for posting it!
